Across Europe, biowaste still represents a largely untapped resource. If properly collected and valorised, it can be transformed into soil improvers, circular fertilisers or renewable energy. This doesn’t come without challenges.
On June 27, three EU-funded projects (Bin2Bean, bioSOILutions and FENIX) came together for a joint webinar to share their insights and experiences on the policy frameworks behind the valorisation of biowaste into circular fertilisers and soil improvers.
From challenges on the ground to regulatory hurdles at national and EU levels, the projects highlighted both obstacles and proposed solutions to unlock the potential of biowaste across Europe.
